we may rehearse most obscenely and courageously -

- take pains - be perfect! And when you're ready to take a break, come check out some live music:

Shakespeare Party at Spectrum - Sunday Oct. 12 - come prepared to read a little Twelfth Night (we provide the scripts and liquid courage), accompanied by some of NYC's finest musicians, hosted by the Brothers Balliett. The music will be part Stan Rogers, part Vivaldi, mostly original, all awesome.

TAK at Shapeshifter Lab - Friday Oct. 24 - as part of this quintet of kickass avant-garde music makers, I'll perform Taylor Brook's gorgeously creepy Five Weather Reports, and Kate Soper's sometimes neurotic, sometimes heartbreaking flute & voice duet, Only the Words Themselves Mean What They Say.

A Midsummer Night's Dream at Casa Duse - Oct. 29 & 30 -  More Shakespeare! I'll make music and play Peaseblossom in a grand, historic Park Slope house (once home to the legendary actress Eleanor Duse and pied-a-terre to divine soprano Joan Sutherland). The audience will be served a delicious meal during the play, one course per act.

Three Voices in Chicago - Wednesday Nov. 3 - I can not wait to sing Feldman's Three Voices at Constellation in Chicago. Please tell all of your friends in the windy city to come be caressed and inspired by the whirling harmonies!

Other fun things to check out in October - Shakespeare Sonnets at BAM; electroacoustic music marathon at PS1; Werner Herzog on YoutubeMeet the Composer podcast from Q2music

'til next month (I'm serious this time),
