I was devastated to learn that Jason Lewis, @canweriotnow, passed away tragically on December 24, 2016.
Jason has been a long-time contributor to Exercism. His enthusiasm about functional programming in general and lisp-y languages in particular has been a great inspiration. Jason started the Pony, Emacs Lisp, and Scheme tracks, and did a lion's share of the work getting both the Emacs Lisp and Scheme tracks launched. He also helped maintain the Lisp and Clojure tracks.
In addition to his work and mentorship on the Exercism curriculum, he developed an Emacs client that can be used in place of the default Exercism CLI, and worked on a prototype of a new API to deliver Exercism exercises.
There will be a memorial meetup in his hometown, Baltimore, organized by the Baltimore Clojure group on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6:30 PM. The meetup will be at Long John's Pub 398 West 29th Street, Baltimore, MD.
