You may or may not have noticed that there hasn't been a Monday Morning Missive for a few months. There's a few reasons for that. First, the Missive was bottlenecked on me, and I haven't kept up with it. Second, it ended up feeling more like busywork than something that was adding value. The main purpose of it was to provide a steady drumbeat of Gittip progress, and we've ended up handling that instead with daily standup meetings. The secondary purpose was to provide a higher level view of Gittip than GitHub issues, and that purpose overlaps with the Building Gittip collection on Medium, so we had multiple sources of truth. Also, TinyLetter is an underwhelming authoring environment, and it doesn't lend itself to the sort of open feedback that otherwise characterizes Gittip communication channels.
We're folding the Missive into the Building Gittip collection on Medium. Medium is a blogging platform with a truly inspiring user experience. With their "collections" feature we can have multiple editors and writers, and we can take submissions from anyone.
