It is important, however, to make sure you’re at least getting a taste of all the week’s events, even if you don’t have time to read 600 articles. I’m also excited to see MoveOn’s new project, The Resistance Recess. It’s designed to put pressure on members of congress who are actively avoiding their constituents, and to organize people to attend town halls and other events to make sure their voices get heard. People have already begun planning events like this on their own—like these constituents in San Diego trying to get their rep., Darrell Issa, to be held accountable on healthcare policy.
Important note: this Saturday, Trump is holding a rally in Orlando...for some reason. While it’s extremely tempting to show up on behalf of the resistance, some have pointed out that it may indeed be a trap for protesters. If you’re considering going, I implore you to first read this Twitter thread, and if you’re still into attending after reading the thread, make sure you show up with a group. And whatever you do, keep it peaceful.
