Greetings fan creators!

Can you believe we're closing in on the fifth annual Twelvetide Drabble challenge? It's time to start limbering up those fingers and gathering your plot bunnies for another round of storytelling to keep our spirits up during the holidays. While we're still ironing out a few details, here's what we know so far.

This Year's Theme
The theme this year is going to be food. Each of the fourteen prompts will feature something edible to work into your drabble however you wish! As during last year's challenge, the newsletter will arrive each day during the challenge, with some recipes containing the day's prompt food, as well as images, to spark your creativity. The prompts will go live at the Ao3 collection page on December 15th. The collection will open for posting on December 24th.

This Year's Fundraising
This year we will be fundraising for environmental justice. We haven't settled on an organization yet; we are looking for one with global reach that centers local activists on the ground. If you have suggestions please email me (feministlibrarian@gmail.com).

Want to Pledge Support?
We currently have donors pledging a total of $2.00/drabble to support environmental justice. Would you be willing to pledge $0.05, $0.10, or $0.25 per drabble? Every donation counts and we'd love to have you on board. For folks who need to budget, last year's challenge clocked in at 125 works ... at $0.10/work that would be a $12.50 donation; even if we doubled our drabble count this year, the total donation would be $15.00. Donations are made directly to the cause after the challenge closes on January 6th. Donations in monthly installments are also completely acceptable if that works better for your pocketbook. If you would like to pledge support please email me (feministlibrarian@gmail.com).

And finally ... invite your friends! We would love to best last year's fundraising ($250 total) and one way to do this is by having more creators involved. We welcome both fanfic and fanart to the collection and this is, as always, a pan-fandom challenge. Creators are also welcome to post more than one drabble or artwork per prompt. The only stipulation is that works be posted to the Ao3 collection during the period it is open in order to count toward our fundraising total.

Happy plotting -- we're looking forward to year five!
