Greetings drabblers!

Well, it's been a year. It's hard to believe we're gearing up for the sixth annual Twelvetide Drabble challenge already ... but here we are. And we hope that the drabbles will be a source of joy and connection during a difficult season. The collection won't open for posting for another month, but I wanted to reach out with an early reminder so that you can begin contemplating if and how to participate this year.

This Year's Theme
The theme this year is going to be the colors of the rainbow. Each of the fourteen prompts will feature a particular color on the color wheel and some objects and images connected to that color to serve as possible prompts for the day, to work into your drabble however you wish! As during last year's challenge, the newsletter will arrive each day during the challenge, with words and images to encourage your creativity. The prompts will all go live at the Ao3 collection page on December 15th. The collection will open for posting on December 24th.

This Year's Fundraising
This year we will be fundraising for inclusive disaster recovery. The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies is a U.S.-based, disability-led non-profit organization that works to ensure equal access, disability rights, and full inclusion of people with disabilities, older adults, and people with access and functional needs before, during, and after disasters and emergencies such as hurricanes and wildfires.

Want to Pledge Support?
Would you be willing to pledge $0.05, $0.10, or $0.25 per drabble? Every donation counts and we'd love to have you on board. For folks who need to budget, last year we had 108 entries and the year before that we had 125. Assuming we have a similar rate of participation, if you pledge $0.25/work your total donation would be in the realm of $30.00 at the end of the challenge. Donations are made directly to the cause after the challenge closes on January 6th; if you need to make your donation as a monthly installment or similar that's totally acceptable as well. Sign up here if you would like to pledge a donation per drabble to the match fund. Email feministlibrarian@gmail.com with any questions!

And finally ... invite your friends! It's been rough for so many people and we hope this opportunity to create and help raise money for the important work ahead of us will be a meaningful part of your end-of-year hibernation this year, no matter how much the dumpster fire of 2020 has sucked. Queer joy matters, and should not be deferred until tomorrow.

Stay safe; yours in struggle,
Elizajane
