Dear Fannish Creators,
We're so glad you're planning to join us for
the 4th annual #TwelvetideDrabbles challenge! We're sharpening our minds, limbering up our fingers, and dreaming of stories to get us through this holiday season.
A reminder that for the first time this year,
you can see all of our prompts on the challenge site if you like to plan ahead. If you signed up for this newsletter, you'll also be getting daily prompt reminders during the challenge, additional image prompts paired with the text prompts, a work-of-the-day from the previous day's posted works, and a running tally of how many works have been posted to the collection so far.
Not only will we be having joyful fannish fun over the holidays writing and drawing, we'll also be
raising money for HIAS. Founded in 1881 as the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, HIAS "stands for a world in which refugees find welcome, safety, and freedom." As of today, every work added to the Twelvetide Drabbles collection between December 24th, 2018 and January 6th, 2019 will mean $2.00 donated to HIAS. If you would be interested in pledging to the drabble match fund at any level ($0.10/work or $0.25/work would be awesome!) email the challenge coordinator
elizajane at
feministlibrarian@gmail.com and let her know what amount you would like to pledge!
You'll hear from us again on Sunday, December 23rd. Until then, happy dreaming (and safe travels for those who will be in the air, on the road, traveling the rails, or otherwise on the move as we approach the deep darkness of the winter solstice here in the northern hemisphere.
