September 2022

Dear family, friends, fellow travelers,

All is well at the Clutterbuck-Cook household; I just haven't had a lot of bandwidth for newslettering the past few months. The highlights since June are that

1) We adopted a little brother for Teazle! We think his name is Harry and he loves toes, fingers, houseflies, making biscuits, Teazle's tail, and tasting everything he can get is nose into.

2) Hanna has a new job! After a baker's dozen of years at Countway Library's Center for the History of Medicine at Harvard Medical School she will be starting work at The History Project, Boston's queer community archives, in October.

3. On September 14th, Hanna and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We got married on September 14, 2012, back in the ancient times when marriage equality was law in Massachusetts but not yet the nation. Glad to have that extra protection of state law if SCOTUS strikes down the Obergefell decision in the near term. What a time to be alive.

4. Life with cancer continues. I am holding steady with treatments and just submitted bloodwork for some additional DNA testing that could match me with current or future clinical trials. Continually learning to pace myself and remember that this is a chronic illness to be managed. We are grateful for all of the ways in which you, and all of the others in our community of care, continue to offer the flexibility and support we need as a household to keep on moving forward.

As always, you can find more incremental life updates on my Twitter and Instagram timelines. I'm trying (and usually failing) at keeping up with email correspondence these days but will eventually respond if you prefer personal email.

In gratitude for your presence in the world,
Anna
